Vier-Stunden-Schal / Four-Hours-Shawl

This was a superfast knitting project and was realized because I wasn't in the mood to begin another demanding pattern on the already mentioned routes on the road through the rebublic. A few days before I bought four balls of the smooth yarn "Venus" from GGH - a knitted tube out of mohair and artificial fibres - in my regional yarnshop for 1 Euro per ball in order to make a simple scarf for me. On the road I started several attempts: on the diagonal in garter stitch, ribs with two knit two purl, seed stitch but that was a little bit boring to me. Another attempt brought out the seed-stich-borders and the lacy rectangles. That was fun to knit and went fast on the 9 mm-needels. I liked the pattern from the beginning.

And in the end there was this coincidence: The yarn sufficed for 10 rectangles and the border and when I had fasten off the stitches I had only 20 cm yarn left. Isn't that crazy? The scarf is about 1,70 m long and 25 cm wide. I washed it yesterday and layed it out to dry. There wasn't anyting to block. Here is a detail:

The scarf looks lovely with the vest. They are very nice looking together. You have a nice eye, this is very pleasing to look at and is a lovely combination.
